If your business is taking part in the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) then there are a few things you should be aware of:
You are now able to claim furlough for your employee’s for the month of November. Claims must be submitted no later than 14th December.
The government has extended the CJRS until 31st March 2021. Employees will be paid 80% of their salary for the hours which they do not work, and this is capped at £2,500 per month. The scheme will be reviewed again in January.
There are now monthly deadlines for claims. For claims after 1st November you must claim within 14 days of the period which you are claiming for. You don’t have to have made use of the scheme previously to take advantage of the CJRS but for periods up to 31st October claims must be submitted by 30th November.
The government has retracted the Job Retention Bonus which would have been paid in February 2021 due to the extension of the CJRS, however, they will put something else in place at a later date and this will be announced in the New Year.
This new guidance was published by the government on 5th November and is available to view in full on the HMRC website.
